A healthy life does not only depend on the lifestyle and behaviors of an individual, but also from the structure of the environment where the individual spends his or her daily life. Over the last few years, the focus on improving aspects related to social deprivation and difficult living situations has become firmly established in the field of disease prevention and health promotion.
On July 25th, 2015, the Prevention Act (Präventionsgesetz) became effective. This law laid the foundation for the intensive cooperation between social insurance agencies, federal states, and communities in the fields for disease prevention and health promotion.
As the responsible body for the Coordinating Office for Health Equity, the Office for Statewide Framework Agreement for Disease Prevention in Bavaria, and the Project “Linking of Employment Promotion and Health Promotion in the Community Setting”, the Bavarian Association for Health Promotion and Disease Prevention plays an important role in the implementation of the Prevention Act in Bavaria.
